Corvettes and Coasters in November at Cypress Gardens

Folks can go to Cypress Gardens theme park to see lots of interesting things, from the historical botanical gardens and animal exhibits to the spectacular shows. However, this November, guests can add Chevy Corvettes to that list as the Bay Area Corvette Club comes to Cypress Gardens. On November 16th at 10 am, the Gardens’ Splash Island water park will be taken over by more than a hundred beautiful corvette models. It’s a great event the whole family can enjoy that will spice up the usual array of Cypress Garden fun.

Guests can see and admire car models built as early as 1953 to newer 2008 models. And for the first time, the Bay Area Corvette Club (BACC) is holding a People’s Choice competition in addition to a traditional judged contest. 31 trophies in total are up for grabs, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place People’s Choice Awards that BACC members are not eligible for. Guests will be able to place their votes for the best cars, and after the top five vote-scoring cars in each class are selected, the results will be given to judges who will inspect the cars for verification. Cars will be judged by their cleanliness, condition, overall appearance, the engine compartment, and the trunk compartment.

If you’ve got an amazing car that needs to be shown off, there’s still time to register for the Corvette Garden Show. There’ll be goodie bags and polo shirts for the first 100 cars that are registered; cars participating in the event must be parked by 9:30 am.

For those who want to join the fun early, there will also be a parade of cars kicking off the weekend on November 15th. The cars will parade through the city of Winter Haven at 5:30 pm, and a Welcome Party from 7 pm to 10 pm will be held afterwards at the Best Western Admirals Inn & Convention Center with beer, food, dancing, and a raffle for a free room.

And cars aren’t the only fun arriving at Cypress Gardens on Sunday. The Original Drifters and The Coasters will be performing in the Star Haven Amphitheater. The Coasters will be hitting the stage at 1 pm, and the Drifters will be performing at 3:30 pm. These famous foursomes will be singing some of the biggest doo-wop, R&B, and rock and roll hits of the 50’s and 60’s in a double concert that is sure to have you dancing along. The concerts are included in the park admission, so guests can feel free to bring their lawn chairs or enjoy bench seating. Reserved seating for an additional fee will also be available.

There’s no better combination than hot cars and great music, so don’t miss all the excitement on this jam-packed November weekend in Cypress Gardens. And best yet, all the fun comes at a very low price – simply get your discount Cypress Garden tickets at DWTickets.com, and you’ll be all set to go and enjoy the show.

Enjoy Seasonal Fun at Cypress Gardens Fall Festival

Just because you have gone to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream, or Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World, it doesn’t mean you have had all the Halloween fun you can have in Orlando. On October 31st and November 1st, Cypress Gardens theme park will be holding a Fall Festival with trick or treating, fall activities, and live entertainment. It’s a great event for the whole family, and it’s an excellent opportunity to enjoy some Halloween fun if you’re booked with work on Halloween night.

During the Fall Festival, kids age 9 and under get in free, and adults only have to pay the normal admission. Be sure to bring your costume; those in Halloween gear (no masks) will receive a free ice cream. The Halloween fun begins at the festival with trick or treating from 4 pm to 9 pm on Friday and 4 pm to 6 pm on Saturday. Kids will love going from store to store at the Village for treats, and vendors will also be posted all over the park with their own trick or treat stands.

And at Cypress Gardens, even the animals will get into the festivities with the Trick or Treat for the animals of Nature’s Way. Normally, the park’s animals are fed before or after park hours, but during the Fall Festival, guests will be able to watch as the animals are fed pumpkin by the animal handlers. Jaguars and wallabies will be fed at 11:30 am, and goats, lemurs, and tortoises will be fed at 3:30 pm.

On both days of the festival, there’ll also be plenty of children’s activities and live entertainment. A Gypsy will be fortune telling and reading palms on Friday and Saturday (for $3), and there will be street performances at the gazebo. Look for jugglers and balloon artists on Friday and jugglers, a magician, and a comedian on Saturday. Kids will also love the arts and crafts table, where they’ll be able to make a trick or treat bag or a Halloween mask.

Also, be sure to check out some of the special attractions during the festival. Find out the spooky history of the Magnolia Mansion and Plantation Gardens during the Haunted Tours, or take a Spooky Boat Tour through the canal on Friday Night. And for a haunted house experience that’s not too spooky for kids, stop by the Boo House where the old candle house used to be.

There’ll also be dance performances by the local schools, and plenty of tasty fall treats such as caramel apples, pumpkin pie, and apple cider. Moreover, during the festival, visitors can still enjoy all their favorite dining spots, shows, and rides, such as the Triple Hurricane wooden roller coaster, the boardwalk-style Paradise Sky Wheel, and the tot-friendly Rio Grande Train.

With all the additional fun coming to the already-fun Cypress Gardens, it’s definitely time to take a break from school or work and head down to Winter Haven. And take advantage of huge savings when you get your discount Cypress Gardens tickets here at DWTickets.com. See you at the Festival!

New Owners New Management, Same Old Fun

Cypress Gardens is a hidden gem of a theme park tucked away just outside of Orlando in Winter Haven Florida although many have heard of the park, it is not always an Orlando vacation must see. New owners have recently stepped up to change that, and DWTickets.com is right there with them, offering the best deals on cheap tickets to the best area theme parks and attractions, and of course, Cypress Gardens is on that list.

Cypress Gardens is the original Florida theme park. It was the first theme park to open in Florida – back in 1936, but over the past several years, the park saw some unfortunate times and even shut down for awhile. All that changed when new owners bought the park and saved the day last October. Expanding their salvation plan, those new owners announced earlier this month that they have partnered up with the Baker Leisure Group of Orlando to bring the oldest Florida theme park back to its former glory as a community staple and attraction that makes guests eagerly anticipate their next visit.

The new management company said “changes will range from cosmetic to cultural” and future visitors can expect a “more lively, interactive, engaging atmosphere.” The park’s beauty is legendary to anyone who has been there, and the new owners hope to use this natural setting to attract increased wedding business. Another draw is the historic “Starliner” roller coaster, the first wooden coaster in Florida that came to Cypress Gardens from a defunct theme park in Panama City Beach.

An additional crowd pleaser has been the outdoor concerts in the Cypress Gardens Star Haven Amphitheatre. Some really great acts have performed here recently, including Willie Nelson.

The upcoming schedule is as follows:

Feb. 3 Pat Boone
Feb. 9 Ray Price with special guest Connie Smith
Feb. 10 Juice Newton
Feb. 16 Loretta Lynn
Feb. 17 The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards
Feb. 23 George Jones
Feb. 24 Bill Haley’s Comets & The Knockouts

Whether you are here on vacation or a local looking for something different to do, spending the day at Cypress Gardens and taking in some live music in the amphitheatre is a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a day. And no one will help you do it better or cheaper than DWTickets.com, so click to it and check out the new Cypress Gardens today!
