Get into the Holiday Spirit at Busch Gardens

Starting November 21st Busch Gardens will be unveiling its new look for the holiday season. The park is in its 50th year of operation, bringing a large variety of entertainment options to its guests. Whether you love to ride roller coasters or check out beautiful animals and greenery, there is something for you at Busch Gardens. Unlike the Orlando theme parks, Busch Gardens is located just a short car trip away in Tampa Bay. It’s the #1 destination spot for the bay area and receives a record number of visitors every year, mostly thanks to its amazing roller coasters like Montu, SheiKra, Scorpion and Kumba. For thrill-ride enthusiasts this is definitely the place to be and, usually, Busch Gardens is considered a more adult-friendly theme park. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good place for the kiddies, it’s a great place for everyone—especially during the holidays!

Over at the Stanleyville Theatre, guests will be treated to the show Christmas on Ice. It’s only a limited engagement show, so you’ll have to make sure you get your discount theme park tickets and plan your trip accordingly. Professional ice skaters will delight you with routines choreographed to your favorite holiday songs. Over at the Marrakesh Theater, Christmas from the Heart will feature an amazing gospel choir that will lift your spirits as they perform an incredible medley of holiday and spiritual favorites.

If you like to have a big breakfast experience, reserve a spot at the Santa breakfast at the Desert Grill. At this special breakfast, Santa and his Elves will join diners for a commemorative photo op and then a private performance featuring seasonal songs and tap dancing. Along with all of these great shows, you will also find merry carolers singing throughout the park, beautiful decorations and endless, bright poinsettias. This is just the beginning for the holidays at Busch Gardens, since New Year’s Eve is right around the corner! Special fireworks for the New Year’s celebrations begin December 26th through the 30th and they culminate with a big bash on the 31st.

If you’ve never been to the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme park for the holidays, this is a great year to start! You will enjoy the beautiful holiday shows as well as the classic Busch Gardens traditions!

Sleepover at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens

Don’t you hate it when your day at the Orlando theme parks is over and you have to go back to your hotel? It’s kind of like the post-trip blues—you never want your day to end. SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay have come up with the remedy for that with their “Explore the Park After Dark” sleepover camps for kids, families and groups. This set of sleepover camps and events will give guests a night they’ll never forget at two of the biggest theme parks Florida has to offer.

Over at SeaWorld, the new Manta ride will be the site of one of the sleepover events. Manta’s queue is an incredible collection of tanks that hold beautiful varieties of rays and fish that glide peacefully around and above you. A lot of times if someone “chickens out” in line or just doesn’t want to ride SeaWorld’s newest coaster, they’ll head back to the aquarium display and check it out until the rest of their group is done riding.

This is also a great option for children in the scout programs. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens have programs for both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts. A park educator will work with the scouts (depending on their age and scout levels) to teach them about the animals living in the habitats they will be visiting. So not only will your children be having a fantastic time, they will be learning a lot about nature and wildlife as well! For families with children in grades K-5, you can have the same sleepover experience even on holidays! Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas are all open for family sleepovers at the SeaWorld theme park. The event starts at 6 p.m. with a pizza party and ends at 9 a.m. the next day with a Continental breakfast.

Over at Busch Gardens, you can camp out at the “Tiger Lodge." This air-conditioned area is an enclosed space over the tiger habitat in Busch Garden’s Jungala. The Busch Gardens sleepover package also includes a Sunrise Safari over their Serengeti Plain and a commemorative t-shirt and water bottle. There’s even a very special sleepover package at this Busch Gardens park—one that involves an animal encounter with wildlife celebrity expert Jack Hanna! Sleepovers for birthday groups and educators are also available with special package offerings catered to the kind of group that decides to camp out at the park.

Nighttime attractions like fireworks displays and animal shows are also available to the sleepover guests of both Busch Gardens and SeaWorld. This unique experience is available on select dates and holidays throughout the year, so get your sleeping bags ready and head on down to SeaWorld or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

Camps for Animal Adventurers

If you are tired of the every-day day-camps, sports camps, and sleepaway camps of summer, SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens have a refreshing and adventurous change of pace in store for you! Adventure Camps by SeaWorld and Busch Gardens provide campers with the opportunity to care for, study, and interact with amazing animals at numerous sessions throughout the summer months.

At these interactive Adventure Camps, campers will get the opportunity of a life-time to work side-by-side with animal care specialists, trainers, and veterinary staff with some of the wildest animals on the planet. Beyond the fun on these experiences, the Adventure Camps act as inspiration for kids wanting a career path in animal sciences. With wildlife conservation and environmental awareness at the helm, this program gives campers not just animal experiences, but a true heightened awareness of the natural world around them and concrete ways about how they can make a difference in the world.

The Adventure Camps of SeaWorld and Busch Gardens go beyond just swimming with dolphins, diving with sharks, feeding giraffes, caring for rhinos, and petting penguins. Referred to as “camouflaged fun,” campers really learn through these amazing experiences. “Our parks become interactive classrooms,” says Judy Jenkins, SeaWorld Orlando’s Director of Education and Conservation. “We don’t just tell campers how much Shamu eats or how cold it is inside the Penguin Encounter. Campers actually have a change to help our animal trainers prepare fish buckets and step inside Penguin Encounter to feel just how chilly – and smelly – the exhibit really is.”

From these Adventure Camps, there is an amazing track record of over 150 former Adventure Campers who are now employed in the zoological departments of SeaWorld and Busch Gardens! This just goes to show how close to a real-life experience you get into the lives of working for these amazing animal parks.

Adventure Camps are available for campers from grades 5-12. From June to August there are five day camps (on select dates) that are available for paying campers, at both Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and SeaWorld Orlando. Campers can choose from a SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, or a combo-park experience. Housing, food, activities, and transportation are all included during the program. On top of that, campers also get the chance to take advantage of the amazing rides, shows, exhibits, and more at these parks.

These camps are a great experience for animal lovers, future animal trainers, and curious minds alike. More information on these Adventure Parks can be found at www.swbg-adventurecamps.com. However, if you are not one of the select few who get to try these amazing camps, don’t fret! You can join in on the animal fun with the option of seeing these animals at SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay with discount SeaWorld tickets and discount Busch Gardens tickets from DWTickets.com!

Have a Wild Birthday at Busch Gardens

Walt Disney World isn’t the only place in Orlando where you can get fun free treats on your birthday (read up on the What Will You Celebrate? promotion if you have no idea what we’re talking about). At Busch Gardens in Tampa, the park is now offering a free Serengeti Safari if you come to the park on your birthday. Great thrill rides, fun animal encounters, and a one-of-a-kind journey into the park’s animal habitats – what else could you ask for on your birthday? Except for cake, of course.

An up-close, 30-minute-long open-truck tour, the Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens takes guests into the wild of the park’s 65-acre Serengeti Plain, where they’ll see some magnificent animals from a perspective most guests don’t get to enjoy. Safari riders will get nose-to-nose with a giraffe, learn a thing or two about zebras, and understand exotic species like bongo, eland, and ostrich. They’ll even get to hand-feed giraffes and antelopes. Guests are guided on their trek into the wild by a Zoo Educator, who’ll help bring them closer to the wildlife while sharing their seemingly infinite knowledge.

Normally, the Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens is only available with an extra fee of $33.99. But from now through the end of the year, if you come to Busch Gardens on your birthday, you can explore the Serengeti Plain for free! Simply visit the Adventure Tour Center located in the Moroccan Village area of the park to reserve your safari expedition.

If you plan on taking advantage of this great offer, be sure to bring proof of your birth date to the park in the form of a valid driver’s license, government-issued ID, or an original or certified copy of a birth certificate. The offer is valid for the birthday adventurer only, who must be five years of age or older to participate, and it doesn’t include free admission to Busch Gardens, which is still required.
Incidentally, this free birthday Safari is being offered in honor of Busch Gardens’ 50th anniversary. To kick off a year-long celebration of 50 years of fun, the park is also hosting Summer Nights at Busch Gardens, a summer-long series of nightly parties filled with entertainment, music, and food. Busch Gardens has also opened a brand-new exhibit dedicated to the history of the park, featuring a historical photo timeline and artifact displays including vintage uniforms, classic coaster cars, ride designs, and more.

To join in on the celebrations and to take advantage of a free Serengeti Safari if your birthday’s coming up soon, plan a trip to the wildest theme park in Tampa. Take a look at discount Busch Gardens tickets on DWTickets.com and have fun safari-ing!

Busch Gardens Celebrates 50 Years with Extra Summer Fun

As we’ve previously reported, Busch Gardens is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, the park will be pulling out all the stops this summer with extended hours, special entertainment, and festive food and drink every night. Summer Nights at Busch Gardens will heat up Tampa Bay every evening from June 6 through August 16, and it’s sure to be the best event of the season as the park marks half a century of providing family adventures.

The fun kicks off this Saturday, June 6, with music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s performed by original artists in Gwazi Park. The night will be capped by a spectacular fireworks display. Then on July 3, guests will be able to groove to David Cassidy in Concert, while the 4th of July features Starship and Mickey Thomas, along with another amazing fireworks show.

On every night in between this Saturday and the festivities in July and thereafter, Busch Gardens will also feature Darren Romeo, the voice of magic, presented by master magicians Siegfried and Roy. Romeo will thrill the crowds with his captivating mix of magic and music in the Moroccan Palace. Meanwhile, at the Marrakesh Theater, Jeff Civillico will present his amazing blend of comedy, juggling, balancing, athleticism, and audience participation. And every night, an infectious new dance choreographed expressly for park guests will keep the energy in the park amped, while DJs spin party songs from four different spots throughout Busch Gardens.

While guests enjoy the hot tunes, fun shows, and the thrill of riding their favorite coasters in the dark, they can also visit the new exhibit honoring Busch Gardens’ 50th birthday. Hundreds of items, including photos, souvenirs, and artifacts, are on display, along with a 70-foot timeline marking milestones from the park’s humble beginnings as a bird garden and brewery tour, all the way to its present day status as a world-renowned adventure park. The exhibit is located between the Crown Colony House Restaurant and the Clydesdale Hamlet and is open during regular park hours.

While normal park hours usually end at 7 pm, during Summer Nights at Busch Gardens, the park will be open until 9 pm Sundays through Thursdays and until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Best yet, all these extra hours of fun and excitement are included with regular Busch Gardens admission, making it one of the summer’s hottest deals.

So if you love the atmosphere of a high-energy street party, check out discount Busch Gardens tickets on DWTickets.com to get your pass to summertime dancing, music, and partying at the hottest theme park in Tampa, Florida.

Glory at the Gardens at Busch Gardens

In addition to being a super-fun theme park with adrenaline-rushing thrill rides, wild animal experiences, and other unique attractions, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is a great place to hear some great music. Recently, for example, the park hosted the Viva La Musica festival, which was a feast for the ears with a wide range of great Latin music. And before that, the Bud & BBQ festival lit up the park with some of today’s hottest country artists. Now, the park continues its dedication to great tunes with Glory at the Gardens, a Christian music series taking place May 9 and May 16.

A brand new event premiering at Busch Gardens Tampa, Glory at the Gardens will offer a jam-packed festival of music and fellowship set amid the thrills, animal encounters, and world-class entertainment of the park. Five concerts will take place each day with performances from the biggest names in contemporary Christian and Christian rock, including Dove Award winners and nominees.

On Saturday, May 9, Busch Gardens will welcome headlining performer Reliant K; there’ll also be performances by NEEDTO BREATHE, This Beautiful Republic, Worth Dying For, and Sanctus Real.

And on Saturday May 16, you can catch headliner Steven Curtis Chapman, along with other performing guests Matthew West, Brandon Heath, Sara Groves, and Joel Auge. On each day, Gwazi Park will open at noon with music, radio personalities, vendors, and food. Concerts start at 1 pm, and the headliner will perform at 4 pm.

If you really love Christian music and want to make an experience out of one of the Glory at the Gardens concerts, you might want to check out a Glory at the Gardens VIP Ticket. Separate from Busch Gardens admission, this ticket will get you front and center stage for the concerts in the “VIP Circle.” It also scores you a meal certificate redeemable at any one of Busch Gardens’ restaurants for an entrée, any one extra item like a side or dessert, and a beverage.

However, you can always score a great seat at the featured Glory at the Gardens concert by arriving early and staking your spot in Gwazi Park. No extra fee or ticket is necessary for attending the concerts; both days of concerts are included with regular admission to Busch Gardens. So if you’re a big fan of great music in a fun atmosphere, you won’t want to miss out this first-ever concert series at Busch Gardens. Check out Busch Gardens tickets at DWTickets.com now and get your access pass to Glory at the Gardens, which is sure to be the hottest Christian music series of the year in Orlando.

Busch Gardens: 50 Years of Thrills

On March 31, 1959, August A. Busch Jr. officially dedicated Busch Gardens, which was, at that time, an admission-free hospitality facility for the nearby Anheuser-Busch manufacturing plant. Fifty years later, the manufacturing plant has long since closed, but the hospitality facility has developed into a bustling Tampa theme park filled with exhilarating roller coasters, beautiful landscapes, and exotic animal experiences.

To mark its successful history, the park has opened an incredible new historical exhibit next to the Clydesdale Hamlet. In the exhibit, guests can browse various displays featuring hundreds of memorabilia items and photographs marking every major event and attraction at the park over the past fifty years. Among them is a 100-foot memory wall featuring a photograph of Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio taken the day she started work at the park’s Zagora Café, a photograph of the day dozens of couples got married as they rode Kumba, and opening day aerial photographs that show the abandoned Army airbase runways that today lurk hidden near Adventure Island.

The park put out a call among its staffers for people to bring in any memorabilia they had lying around, and employees responded in force. One accounting clerk brought in her old belly dancer costume from when she was a snake charmer at the park, while others brought in painted gremlins from the Gnome Village, which had been serving as doorstops in the corporate offices. Other items now on display were dug up from the park’s archives, including conceptual art of rides like Montu, which was initially planned to be a coaster built inside a giant Egyptian pyramid.

The search for memorabilia is still ongoing as the exhibit, which will be on display at least through the end of the year, expands; by this summer, it will include video anecdotes from park veterans and former executives.

The exhibit is certainly a valuable look at the history of a park that has grown to become one of Orlando’s most popular, with six roller coasters, 2,000 animals, and 3,000 employees running the operations. Among the attractions at the Africa-themed Busch Gardens Tampa are Sheikra, North America’s first dive coaster which sends riders 200 feet up, then 90 degrees straight down; Kumba, a breathtaking ride featuring a 135-foot drop, 360 degree spirals, and one of the world’s largest vertical loops; Montu, one of the tallest and longest inverted roller coasters in the world; Gwazi, a wooden coaster with two interwoven tracks; and the Scorpion, featuring a 60-foot drop and 360-degree loop at incredible speeds.

Busch Gardens also offers countless animal encounters, available in habitats like Serengeti Plain, featuring hundreds of exotic African animals; Myombe Reserve, a lush forest filled with gorillas and chimpanzees; the Bird Gardens, containing almost 500 tropical birds; and Lory Landing, a domed habitat showcasing a variety of brilliantly colored birds. These exciting habitats, along with shows, tours, and other experiences, ensure that Busch Gardens will be Florida favorite for yet another 50 years.

If you’ve never visited Busch Gardens, don’t wait until its next bicentennial; make some time to explore this beloved Tampa theme park during your next vacation, and save on your adventure by purchasing discount Busch Gardens tickets from DWTickets.com.

Howl-O-Scream: Doubling Your Fun This Halloween!

Appearing for its 9th season, Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa plans to double the screams and double the fun this time around. As the sun goes down, the evil spirits, ghosts, goblins, creatures, and more come out to play throughout the park. Busch Gardens changes from a happy go-lucky park to an amusement park of inescapable fear! For 17 select nights, Howl-O-Scream will run from October 2 – November 1, with two Freaky Preview nights on September 26 and 27. Loaded with six haunted houses, three scare zones, three shows, and the best roller coasters in Florida to keep you on your toes, you will not want to miss this event.

But, beware! There is a reason that Busch Gardens promises double the fun and scares this year…the Raven Twins! Born conjoined at the head, Laura and Lana Raven grew up as any other children would. As they grew up they started to develop unique personalities, but they still could agree on one thing and that was their love for the same boy. But, the young boy wanted nothing to do with the twins! He mocked and joked about them, just as the rest of the town did. This heart break LITERALLY tore the twins apart. The twins forcefully separated themselves, ruining their faces forever, looking for revenge to all of those who caused them cruelty and pain. Beware of these girls if they are to cross your path. They are dieing to meet you…

Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream tickets must be purchased separately from Busch Gardens Park Admission tickets. This event is intended for mature audiences and may prove to be too intense for young children. The event contains adult content of violence, gore, and blood.

    (7:30 pm – 1 am)

  • October 2 – November 1
    (Thursdays 7:30 pm – 1 am; Fridays & Saturdays 7:30 pm – 2 am)

Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa

The theme for this year's "Howl-O-Scream" celebration at Busch Gardens Tampa is "A New Spin on Horror." Sounds intriguing, no? Even if you're not a true Halloween lover, the folks at Busch Gardens vow this year's party will be the scariest and best yet; the "horror" so intense, the evening comes with a warning -parental discretion advised.

So what will this new "spin" look like? Think crowds moving to the beat, strobe lights piercing the night sky, and zombie DJs spinning an eerie death beat.

There will be six haunted houses located throughout the park for your voyeuristic visiting pleasure. In "After Hours: Club Muse" the evil artists get their inspiration from you, once you make it past the velvet ropes and the screaming begins. Watch out for The Messengers at "Catch Your Breath 13" House. They've already taken 12 victims and want nothing more than to suffocate your lights out and make you number 13. Don't breath in the air around "Radiation Alert 3-D" - it's radioactive, and so are its residents. And speaking of residents, be sure to stop by and say hi to the family at "Trapped in the Walls" and their demon friends. The night is darkest in the "Taste of Blood" house here vampires are on the hunt. And don't miss the burnt out remnants of that peaceful cabin in the woods. Just try not to become one of "The Hunted."

On your way to these horrific houses, you'll have to weave your way through five scare zones. Wander through the "Wicked Woods," where the trees are alive and waiting to grab anything -and anyone within reach. Watch a battle to the death in the "Masters & Monsters" fighting pit. If you like blood and gore, this is definitely your place. "Pharaoh's Revenge" takes you to the step of death's door, and maybe beyond with the other mummies. And the peaceful, friendly Corncob Junction turns into "Zombie Junction"...well, just picture any zombie movie where you're the one surrounded. And beware of "Eternal Midnight" a stopover to hell where trapped residents like to use passers-by for rides out of purgatory.

And if you have time and are still among the living, you might want to catch a live show or two. "Sweet Dreams" features some great music, dancing and special effects that are sure to evoke a scream or two. Head over to the "Fiends" show for more dancing and general fun and freakiness. Or check out the real contemporary freaks in the "Freak Show."

And if all these Halloween special-effects aren't enough to get your blood boiling, you can scream your lungs out on one of the wild rides. Click now to get your discount Busch Gardens tickets from DW Tickets, and start celebrating!

Busch Gardens - Tampa

Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida is one of America's most exciting roller-coaster theme parks. Every ride at Busch Gardens is a hair-raising, spine-tingling rush of adrenaline-pumping excitement that keeps you coming back for more. I have not been to Busch Gardens in a few years, but after doing some research of what is going on over there in the next couple of months, I cannot wait to get over to Tampa and hit those coasters! Busch Gardens has an African theme with ridiculously thrilling and chilling roller-coasters such as the Kumba, Montu, Skeikra, Congo River Rapids, and many more. A recently new show, Pirates 4-D is a hilariously entertaining 4-D comedy adventure for the entire family - taking place in the new Timbuktu Theater.

Busch Gardens also has a Serengeti Railroad where you can explore the Serengeti Plain with large herds of beautiful African animals. Animals such as free-roaming giraffes, zebras, ostrich, and antelopes can be viewed in a very natural habitat. When touring on the Serengeti Express inside Busch Gardens, you feel like you are on an African safari. Busch Gardens also has a brand new musical review called the Mirage Canteen where you can travel back in time to the 1940's and hear music and see costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Busch Gardens is only an hour drive from Orlando and the Disney theme parks, and is well worth the trip. If you are really into some intense roller-coaster action, head over to Busch Gardens - Tampa for the time of your life.
